2025-04-03 Pragmatic Idealist ============================= I sometimes describe myself as a "pragmatic idealist". That is to say, I like to spend the first half of a discussion talking about ideals, visions, what we'd like to do if we could, if unconstrained, if only. But I want to spend the second half talking about what we're actually going to do with what we've got. I think it's important to do both. It's so valuable to take some time to (re-)align on big-picture goals and hopes and dreams, remind ourselves of what we're aiming for and where we want to be. But it's essential to not get lost in that, and remember the reality of where we are, and be sure to make real concrete progress. See Also -------- * `"The Great Balance - Do I Smell Burning?" `__
